I have a new puppy and want to make sure that I feed her properly from the beginning.
Someone told me that they make their dog fried up ground beef every day instead of dog food.
Any comments on this?
What is the difference between ground beef vs. canned or dry dog food?
Thanks for any comments on ANY food.
I only want the best for my new baby :)

Those were just the most recent threads I saw that may help your decision. There are plenty more if you browse through the older threads as well.

I'm not a big fan of the cooked diet- there's very little advantage to that versus kibble and it's easy to miss something important. If you're not going to feed raw, just feed dog food. Raw's a great diet but it, like the cooked diet, must be prepared with care given to what's going into the food: proper Ca:P ratio and supplemented vitamins.

Ground beef is one of the worst meats, I think, that you could feed unless it's ultra-lean. There's just way too much fat. Try game meats or lamb, turkey, etc, instead.

My advice is to stick with what your breeder was feeding your puppy..

I would check out online forums that's just about mastiffs.

Here's one I found.

I hope this helps and good luck with your new furbaby..

Ground beef is only recommened for dogs with sensitive stomaches and it should be mixed with white rice and not used for prolonged peirods of time.
