Exclamation Beautiful puppy pit rescued and needs home

Hi All,

A friend of mine and myself caught a beautiful female pit running across a busy intersection in north york, toronto, ontario. I have placed her in a foster home. Here are some details about her. She is approx. 1 year old or maybe 18 months old. She recently had a litter. I believe she may have been dumped. At this time I am seeking a new home for her so she can live happily. I have never met such a loving and caring dog (other than my dogs of course lol). She is fully trained and housebroken. I need help to find her a new home.. she deserves a great life. The foster home she is in can only keep her for about a week. Can anyone help me out? I will post her picture up tomorrow.. forgot to forward it to my work e-mail.

Let me know,
Pam

Dog was reclaimed by neglectful owner

I am sad to say that the dog was returned to its owner whom for over a week did not even look for his dog.. the dog walker who was caring for the dog had no choice but ti relinquish the dog to its owner.. if only there I was there..

That sucks. I just dont understand people! I dont have kids yet, but my dogs are my kids, you better believe I would be making posters and have teams of my friends looking for my son or daughter. Too bad your not allowed to smack people...lol

I wonder what the law states as far as time to reclaim a lost pet without any ID? I know in shelters, it is usually what? 48 hours?

I ran into this problem with a shepherd mix that my mother now owns. I found him running alongside a major highway without even a collar and so I brought him home. I had to keep him 30 days just as a precaution while I posted found posters and ads in the local papers and called the nearby shelters. I didn't want to pay to have him neutered and microchipped and then have someone come along and want to reclaim him.
