My dog has long pointy nails. The groomer said her nails had never been cut so she would need them ground.
Will this be safe for the dog?

I grind my dogs nails all the time. I cut them first then grind them to keep them short and smooth.

I cut Lily's nails myself. After, I file them down just a bit, using a small dremel tool, to make them smooth. Lily has one nail on her front right paw that is longer then the others, and grows at an upward angle, so it doesnt wear down from walks and runs like the other nails might. So this is is why I file them down :)

you know many show owners use a grinder to file their dogs nails down. i personally dont like it i bought a file and use it.. after cutting but to each his own it is safe as long as you clean the grinder and make sure she is using sanitized tips :D

I take Rio & Nicky to the vets every month or month in a half and have the nails cut. I'm a wimp one thing I cant do since Ithey will not hold still. Then we lay on the couch at home and I file them with a nail file to smooth them out they get a pawdicure.:D

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. It's not like your grinder gets bloody or something.
