Feeding tips from Hannibal
Yes this is heart, lung and brain salad. Num Num.
The darker side of feeding RAW. I had a lady friend come over last night. She saw this and said. " Who knows I'm here?" |

I think i will stick to putting the scoop into this giant bag of dog food and putting it in a dog bowl....your salad is really gross, but im sure enjoyed by your four legged friend....I was wondering...what is the life span of a dog that is as big as yours?

RAW FEEDING Papers I did for some people in the USA
Someone had asked how and what I feed my fur kids. I have not included pricing, because it will change depending on the part of the world you live in. I will say, I spend less on meats than I would on kibble. I have budgeted $100.00 per month for food.
The pray model I use is 75% skeletal meat (includes bones) and 25% organ meats. 1. Pork necks (in bulk) 40 lbs case. One pork neck can be cleaved down to 4”x 4” pcs. Generous amount of garlic powder for flavor. The above is the main stay of the diet. 3-9 pcs per day. Depending on size. 2. Organ meats Brains (Pork, or Beef) Liver (Pork or Beef) Kidney (Pork or Beef) Lung (Beef only) Heart (Beef or Chicken) Spleen (Beef or Pork) Please note: Organ meat goes bad very quickly. Do not let stand out. Prepare partially frozen and feed it to them frozen. If you have any concerns about feeding brain matter. I have checked with Canadian Food Inspection Agency. They have confirmed. There is no evidence that Dogs can contract BSE. (Mad Cow) Organ Meat Prep I take one of each of the above organ meats, cut them into small pcs. Garlic powder for flavor. Next I take 7 sandwich bags, (one for each day of the week.) and put in equal amounts of each meat for a weight of approx 1 to 1.5 lbs. (About half a bag full.) I also add supplements at this time as well. Calcium, gluecosamin, sea kelp. I call these daily treats “Meatcicals”. Other Meats: Chicken carcass is also a good main stay. But unfortunately some dogs will reject it. Beef scraps are also good. (Very smelly) Lamb necks (Very Expensive) Rabbit (Very Expensive) Fish (Cod, sardines.) Marrowbones Additional Supplements: Cod liver oil Approx costs Pork Hearts 1.09lb Pork soft bones 1.19lb Very soft bones, almost like cartalidge. You can cut it with a knife. Very easy to digest. Pork necks (cut) .69lb They will not eat the whole thing. But most of it. Pork Kidney .83lb Pork Liver .83lb Pork Brain 1.03lb I would start with 1 bag of each. The formula for amounts is 2% of there weight. Most dogs can eat more than that, but it is a good starting point. Optional meats Beef shank 1.59lb Lots of meat and some marrow. Beef neck bones .39lb Good for chewing Binky's life span will be approx 10 years. Maybe 12 if I am lucky. Last edited by Mr Binky; 08-01-2006 at 11:57 PM. |

Wow, that looks great! Well, not for me, for Geiger. He'll be jealous when he sees the picture. When he gets brain or lung, he just gets the whole thing. Since it's so hot here, he's been enjoying his meatsicles and organsicles much more.
